Before: Engagement rate based on likes/comments, number of followers, low CPM as key KPIs.
Now: Engagement rate based on views, content virality, and product affinity as key KPIs.

Category

Aligning the creator's niche with the product category is important for success on TikTok Shop. Look for creators in the niche of your product or those reviewing products within your product category on their TikTok profile. 

Set category filters

To ensure your campaign reaches the right creators, start by setting the appropriate category filters inside your campaign brief. This will help you target creators whose niches align with your product category, making it easier to find the perfect match. Additionally, using lookalike filters can help you find creators with audience profiles similar to your target market. 

 

Review creator profiles

You should also open the creator TikTok profile and review the content they produce. See if you can picture your product blending in naturally in their feed.

Content Skills 

Take a look at the creator's TikTok account and make sure you can see the following skills in their posted videos: 

  • Storytelling, giving personal recommendations, delivering a strong hook, using TikTok trends;

  • Using TikTok in-app editing tools such as voiceover, transitions, and text overlays. 

Audience

Make sure to work with influencers that: 

  • Have the majority of their audience in your target audience. The recommendation is that at least 60% is located in your target audience country; 

  • Have the majority of their audience's gender and age match your target audience.
